BILLY SHAKES: WONDERBOY!
The imagined childhood of the Big Bard himself….
A show for ages 4+ and their grown-ups about the childhood of William Shakespeare.
Bursting with live music, puppetry and a wealth of brilliantly barmy historical inaccuracies, this 50-minute fun-filled show is performed in the ‘groundlings’ courtyard of the theatre delivering an interactive and engaging experience in a stunning historical setting.
Billy Shakes – Wonderboy embraces the joy of story-telling and is the perfect introduction to the delights of Shakespeare for children and adults alike!
This production was first created to tour to community venues, libraries and schools in 2017 supported by Arts Council England and Creative Scene, before it's second incarnation and redevelopment into an outdoor performance piece for Shakespeare's Rose Theatre York in August 2019.
